Emergency Medical Services is responsible for the delivery of prehospital emergency care to the citizens and visitors of Jackson County. The men and women of EMS accomplish this by the utilization of seven strategically located ambulances throughout the county staffed 24/7 with EMTs and Paramedics who are dedicated to the excellent delivery of patient care to all our patients.
The EMS division consists of a division director, three EMS supervisors, and 40 full-time EMTs and/or Paramedics. Together these employees staff and operate seven advanced life support (ALS) ambulances strategically located throughout the county. Full-time staff members are additionally supported by a team of more than fifty part-time EMTs and/or Paramedics to facilitate emergency response coverage 24 hours each day, 365 days per year.
Each ALS ambulance is staffed with a minimum of one EMT-Intermediate and one Paramedic. Thirty-seven of our full-time staff members are Paramedics and one is an EMT. These highly trained individuals are capable of providing the most advanced emergency medical care in the Northeast Georgia Region.
