[ARCHIVED] Declaration of Local Emergency

covid-19

Jackson County Board of Commissioners Chairman Tom Crow signed an order March 18, 2020 declaring a Local Emergency due to the Coronavirus(COVID-19) outbreak.  This falls in line with the Presidential and State actions taken declaring this event a national emergency and public health state of emergency. This action is being taken to allow the County to operate as efficiently and effectively as possible in its response to this emergency.  For the most part, at this time, County facilities are open to the public and under full operation with the exceptions as noted below. We are strongly encouraging the public to try to transact business by phone or online if all possible and if available.  Below is a listing of all county operations, how they can be contacted, if they may have modified their operations in any way in response to this event and if they provide certain services online or by phone.  All county information will be provided on the county website www.jacksoncountygov.com.

Essential functions such as Sheriff operations, E911, EMA, EMS, Senior Citizen meals, and Solid Waste transfer station and compactor sites will continue operations throughout this emergency.  Animal Control services will be provided on an emergency basis only.
