Jackson County provides a solid waste disposal facility and two compactor sites for its citizens and businesses. The facilities are regulated by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Environmental Protection Division (EPD) and the Jackson County Board of Commissioners.
Jackson County is a member of the 10-County Solid Waste Authority, which was set forth by the Northeast Georgia Regional Development Center to implement a 10 year solid waste plan. The Solid Waste Authority sets short-term and long-term goals for the future needs of solid waste planning. These include, but are not limited to:
- Regional Landfills
- Regional Recycling
- Regional Grants
- Tire Amnesty Programs
Our goal is to provide the best service possible to all customers who utilize our facilities and to provide efficient, environmentally responsible disposal of all waste collected.
