The air door to our community. With the accelerated growth in Jackson County over the last few years, the airport is feeling the impact and preparing for the future.   As our County moves into its next phase of economic expansion so will the Airport.

Located near I-85 and outside of Atlanta's class "B" airspace, the Jackson County Airport is in a very advantageous position both geographically and economically. The development of an Airport Layout Plan or ALP is now in the concept phase with the goal of taking full advantage of these and other factors. Numerous ideas are being explored for possible inclusion in future developments.

Today the Airport is a well maintain General Aviation Facility. There is ramp space available for rent from the county and private hanger space options as well. Fuel prices are some of the lowest in North Georgia. (See Current Fuel Prices on Airnav.com).   Renovations have begun on the County’s Hanger and will soon house a Fixed Base Operator with increased services to the aviation public. A runway extension program has been completed for RW 17 / 35 extending its length to 5000 feet.  Other upgrades will include fencing, security cameras, water/sewer and equipment.
