Several arrests made after disturbance call

Jefferson, Georgia – March 18, 2013

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office made 14 arrests after responding to a disturbance call Saturday night in Commerce.

Seven juveniles and seven adults were arrested Saturday night after deputies responded to a disturbance call at the Mount Olive townhomes, deputies observed several subjects standing outside the townhouse drinking, many of the subjects ran from the scene, after further investigation it was determined that one of the subjects outside the residence was underage had been drinking, after the arrest deputies met with the homeowner. The homeowner advised that they were having a birthday party, he allowed deputies to enter the residence, and once inside deputies could smell an odor of marijuana burning and a strong odor of alcohol along with approximately 25 more people.

Deputies located one adult and one juvenile female unresponsive, a med unit was dispatched and transported the two to an area hospital. Several subjects were charged with underage possession of an alcoholic beverage, among those arrested James Scannell 20,Tony Yang 17, Jessie Thao 19, Nellie Chansombath 19, and Dat Pham 20. The two homeowners, Joshua Hill 24, and Ellen Chansombath 22, were also arrested for providing alcohol to minors and disorderly house.
