The Groundbreaking Ceremony for John B. Brooks Road Improvement Project was held on Thursday, July 16th at 10:00 AM at Seydel-Woolley. The Project will reconstruct and widen John B. Brooks Road from US 129 to SR 332. This road is the main collector for the Walnut Fork Business Park and connects two major state routes. The Project Designer is ARCADIS and the Contractor is Pittman Construction; the completion date for the project is August 15, 2010. The project is funded by the partnership of the Jackson County Board of Commissioners, Industrial Development Authority and the City of Jefferson.
Closure Update – The road was closed from 6:00 AM on Friday the 17th until Sunday, the 19th at 9:00 PM. The closure was supposed to last through Wednesday, the 20th ; however, work was finished 3 days ahead of schedule and the road was open to through traffic Sunday night. The next closure should be within the next 30 to 45 days and advance notice will be given of those dates and times.
