JCCI provides labor for Vehicle Maintenance
Using an average of 10 inmates per day, the Shop provides routine maintenance as well as repair work and body work for all vehicles owned by Jackson County including cars, trucks, heavy equipment, tractors, mowers, etc.
The inmates assigned to the Shop Detail log more than 30,000 hours per year which would cost the county over $750,000 annually! Inmates on this detail are skilled workers such as gasoline mechanics, diesel mechanics, body work professionals, and more. They perform most of their work at the Shop, but also go out on special details to work on equipment broken down on the road.
Cost-Saving
The Fleet Maintenance department is certainly a huge cost-saving department for the county and the taxpayers!
