Agricultural Facility

Work has begun on the new $4 million Jackson County Multiuse Agricultural Facility.  The facility, owned and operated by Jackson County, will be located off County Farm Road across from Lamar Murphy Park and in front of the Jackson County Fire Training Center. Estimated opening date is Fall 2019. The 38,000 square foot facility will consist of the following:

  • 18,700 sf multipurpose area will primarily be used for preparing animals to be shown in livestock shows but can also be used for other purposes such as small concerts, banquets, tradeshows, exhibits and large parties. This area will be equipped with all the amenities necessary to properly prepare livestock for showing.
  • 8,900 sf Show Arena which will have bleacher seating for 300 people. This area can also be used for other purposes such as large meetings, performances, banquets, parties and dances.
  • 1,600 sf conference room that can accommodate up to one hundred people and can be used for civic organization meetings, parties, training/educational classes, recitals and small performances.
  • 1,460 sf concession/kitchen area.
Adequate parking for participants, vendors, spectators and livestock trailers will be available adjacent and across road from the building. 
The facility will be available for rent. Rental terms and conditions will be forthcoming. Jackson County has received a $300,000 OneGeorgia Special Purpose Award from the Georgia Department of Community Affairs to assist in the construction of the new agricultural center.
